Mobile is now the primary surface for most of our active users. The v3.0 release is the largest update we have shipped to the apps in two years, and it focuses on three things: speed, simplification, and security.
Rebuilt chart engine
The chart engine has been rewritten on a native rendering backend. The previous implementation was a hybrid that worked reasonably well on flagship phones but stuttered on mid-tier devices.
Concretely:
- Pan and zoom now hold a steady 60 fps on phones with a 4-year-old chipset, where the old engine dropped to 30 fps.
- Indicator calculations run on a background thread, so opening a heavily configured chart no longer freezes the UI.
- We added six commonly requested indicators (VWAP bands, Anchored VWAP, Donchian channels, Keltner channels, OBV, and Chaikin Money Flow).
If you have a customized chart layout, it will migrate automatically. No re-setup is required.
Unified wallet tab
We have consolidated the previously separate Funding, Spot, and Earn balance views into a single Wallet tab. The tab uses a segmented control to switch contexts, and a single search bar finds any asset across any account type.
The change is informed by usage data: most people who opened the Funding tab also opened the Spot tab in the same session. Keeping them apart cost taps and reduced clarity.
If you preferred the old separation, you can pin individual contexts to your home screen via the customize menu.
Biometric protection by default
This is the most important change. On any new install, the app now enables biometric session protection by default. Face ID, fingerprint, or device passcode is required to:
- Open the app after the device has been idle for more than 5 minutes.
- Approve any withdrawal, internal transfer, or API key change.
Existing users will be prompted to opt in on the first launch after upgrade. We strongly recommend leaving it on.
Other improvements
A handful of smaller items that have been on the request list:
- Push notifications for funding payments and stop-loss fills.
- A redesigned order ticket that shows fees, slippage estimate, and liquidation price (for perps) on a single screen.
- Dark mode now defaults to a true-black palette on OLED screens to extend battery life.
- App-level localization in 22 languages, with full RTL support for Arabic and Hebrew.
How to update
The new version is rolling out on the App Store and Google Play over the next 48 hours. If you do not see the update yet, force-close the store app or check back in a few hours.
As always, please report any issues directly from the Help menu — the in-app feedback channel goes to a real team that reads it.
